For those who did not make it to meeting last week we were supposed to hike to Battle Creek falls, but with the amount of rain that came down just before' we decided that with possible flash flood and lightning warnings we would get together and go to Cabala's and look at camp gear. The sales people up there were extremely helpful. They answered alot of our questions. There is so many items available that our decision is to make a list of back packing supplies we think we might need, then see what we can do with out to lighten our packs.
This next week we are planing to go to Highland Glen park to do some out door cooking. We need everyone planning on coming to pick a dish to prepare and to list what you are going to do on the comments at the bottom of this post. We need a couple of main dishes, a couple of sides and a desert or two. We also need to know if you need dutch ovens, stove or what you need to use to cook- prepare your dish. I myself will supply a drink for all.
We would like to have everyone come to the meetings as it will really help with planning our activities. We would like everyone to try and bring someone who would like to get out and do some fun scouting activities. Those who are coming on Wed. If you have a fishing license and want to fish, bring your stuff. Meet at the church promptly at 7pm as we are leaving the church as close to 7 as possible so we will have plenty of time to do the cooking. Rick is planning on going up at 6:30 to start charcoal. So if you want you can go straight there but please let us know so we are not waiting around for you at the church.
We are still planning on the camp out on July 17-18 out in the desert to watch rockets. If you want to launch one bring it. We will also decide what else we will be doing at this weeks meeting. We are planning a Mount Timp summit hike in Sept then in Nov we would like to go hike the Subway in Zions canyon.
